Increased testing will accelerate SEHA’s efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 across the UAE
Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the UAE’s largest healthcare network, is gearing up to launch COVID-19 screening centers across the country, under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces. This comes as Abu Dhabi builds on its initial efforts to ensure the safety of the community and limit the spread of the virus.
Commenting on the expansion of SEHA’s screening centers across the UAE, Rashed Al Qubaisi, Group Deputy CEO, SEHA, said: “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the UAE’s leadership have highlighted that the safety of the nation’s citizens and residents remains the number one priority. SEHA has a relentless focus on delivering on the leadership’s vision and will ensure that we are able to deliver world-class care through state-of-the-art screening centers and trained caregivers, ready to serve the community and conduct the necessary tests within minutes.”
Throughout this week, four additional drive-through screening facilities will open across Abu Dhabi – one in Al Wathba, one in Al Bahia and two in Al Ain. The new facilities will be operational from 8:00am to 8:00pm Sunday to Thursday, with capacity to complete approximately 600 tests a day.
The country will also see the launch of two the national screening centers in Dubai – one in Mina Rashid and other in Al Khawaneej, with additional centers opening in Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. These will be operational from 10:00am to 6:00pm Sunday to Thursday, with capacity to complete 500 tests a day.
Mohammed Hawas Al Sadid, CEO of Ambulatory Health Services – SEHA, said: “Following the success of the first drive-through facility that launched in Abu Dhabi in March, we are looking forward to rolling out this service in other locations, ensuring members of the community have a safe and reliable facility to approach for COVID-19 testing.”

Those wishing to visit SEHA’s screening centers must first book an appointment for a preliminary consultation by calling 800 1717 or via the SEHA app, which includes answering select questions about the individual’s condition and symptoms. If necessary, an appointment will be booked to visit the national survey center and undergo the COVID-19 test.
Those who are showing symptoms, senior citizens, pregnant, people of determination or have chronic diseases will be prioritized. Those who wish to undergo the COVID-19 test for reassurance without evident symptoms are required to pay AED 370 via the SEHA app. Cash will not be accepted at the screening facilities as to limit contact.
SEHA has been on the frontlines of the UAE’s efforts to against COVID-19, having launched a number of initiatives to facilitate access to care and treatment for patients in the UAE. In the recent past, SEHA has launched home delivery of medication, the UAE’s first drive through testing facility, dedicated existing hospitals for COVID-19 patients, and launched telemedicine services to ensure faster access for patient-doctor engagements.
