| Can ordinary household oxygen generator be used for cerebral infarction?

Many people have oxygen generators in their homes for emergencies. Oxygen generator has obvious therapeutic effect in helping people breathe oxygen. So, can ordinary household oxygen generators be used for cerebral infarction?

At present, studies at home and abroad have shown that the use of oxygen therapy in acute ischemic stroke has no obvious therapeutic effect, so patients with cerebral infarction do not need to use home oxygen generators. For lung diseases, especially chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the effect of using home oxygen generator is better. Because of repeated low flow and long-term oxygen inhalation, it has a better effect on improving lung symptoms. For heart diseases such as cardiac insufficiency, oxygen inhalation can significantly improve related symptoms.

For acute cerebrovascular diseases, especially acute cerebral infarction, oxygen inhalation may not have much effect. However, for cerebral infarction caused by special circumstances, oxygen therapy can be used, usually hyperbaric oxygen, such as hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy or cerebral infarction sequelae caused by consciousness disorders, oxygen therapy can be applied appropriately. Ordinary cerebral infarction patients do not need to use home oxygen generator, because there is no obvious effect.
