| Precautions after intraocular lens implantation

1. After the operation, although the vision has been significantly improved, we cannot relax our vigilance. Intraocular lens implantation is a foreign body after all, and sometimes it can also produce certain complications, so we should strengthen observation and pay attention to protection to avoid serious consequences.

2. After intraocular lens implantation, attention should be paid to whether the operation eye has pain, whether the intraocular lens position has deflection or dislocation, whether the anterior segment has inflammatory exudation, whether the iris and pupil have adhesion, etc.

3. Go to the hospital for examination once a week after operation, including vision, anterior segment, intraocular lens and fundus. Follow the doctor’s advice for regular review after 1 month.

4. Within 1 month after operation, drop hormone and antibiotic ophthalmic drugs several times a day, and follow the doctor’s advice to drop mydriasis ophthalmic drugs with weak effect to prevent pupil adhesion. For those who use hormone ophthalmic drugs for a long time, attention should be paid to the intraocular pressure to avoid hormone induced glaucoma.

5. Three months after operation, avoid strenuous exercise, especially bow your head, avoid overwork, and prevent colds.

6. Three months after intraocular lens implantation, you should go to the hospital for routine examination and refractive examination. Those with refractive changes can be corrected with glasses after experience. Generally, you can participate in normal work and study after one month.

7. Keep bowel movement unobstructed at ordinary times, eat less irritating food, avoid smoking and alcohol, and eat more fruits and vegetables.
