| The difference between an oxygen concentrator and a ventilator

Both ventilators and oxygen concentrators can provide additional oxygen to the patient, but the differences between the two are:

First, the working methods are different. The oxygen generator is to lift the oxygen in the air through the air compressor, and then supply it to the patient, and the nasal tube is often used. Ventilators belong to the category of assisted breathing, far beyond the single function of providing oxygen, requiring the use of face masks or nasal masks.

Second, the use is different. Oxygen generators are generally suitable for patients with mild respiratory failure, or home oxygen therapy for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and other conditions that simply require oxygen, such as stroke sequelae patients, pregnant women, etc. The ventilator can treat various respiratory failures through various auxiliary breathing modes. It can be used for mild patients, but mainly for critically ill patients with respiratory dysfunction.

Third, the cost is different. Oxygen concentrators generally cost several hundred dollars and are mostly used by families. Ventilators are treatment projects or family investments, ranging from tens of thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
